PhD, Licensed Psychologist
LaKeisha Gantt attended Mercer University as a first-generation college student and later the University of Georgia. LaKeisha is licensed as a psychologist and a professional counselor. She taught previously at Piedmont University as an Assistant Professor and has taught as an adjunct instructor as well. LaKeisha has experience providing multicultural organizational development and counseling diverse and marginalized populations across the developmental spectrum. LaKeisha has worked extensively with schools on issues of discipline and school climate. LaKeisha has contributed to public conversations regarding mental health, school climate/discipline, and the psychological impact of political issues on marginalized populations. LaKeisha gave her first TEDXUGA talk in 2021 and continues to enjoy community advocacy as well as facilitating difficult dialogues on sensitive issues such as race, class, and mental health.

Multiculturalism: Exploring the Intersections of Ethics & Cultural Competence

This online workshop will explore multiculturalism as a framework to identify and discuss where ethics and competency overlap. Participants will review ethical guidelines and spend time examining ethics as a significant rationale for our ongoing and lifelong work toward cultural competency. This workshop is approved for 6 ETHIC hours.
